How to Apply to Trinity College Dublin? – MyCareerPathshala Guide

For an Indian student, the application pathway is generally the Non-EU direct application route.

Step 1 – Choose the course:

First, select your intended Trinity undergraduate course. For medical applicants, decide whether you want Medicine, Human Health and Disease, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Radiation Therapy, Nursing, Dental Science, or another healthcare course.

Step 2 – Check Indian academic eligibility:

Check your CBSE/ISC/HSC results against Trinity’s country-specific requirements.

Step 3 – Check course-specific requirements:

This is especially important for Medicine, Dental Science, and other competitive healthcare programmes.

Step 4 – Check English requirements:

Ensure that your IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge or other accepted English qualification meets Trinity’s requirements.

Step 5 – Prepare documents:

Trinity’s direct application system asks applicants to complete details covering education, experience, English proficiency, personal statement, references, and additional documentation. Typical documents can include:

  • Class 10 and Class 12 academic records

  • Predicted or final results

  • English-language qualification

  • Personal statement

  • Academic references

  • Passport

  • Other course-specific documentation

Step 6 – Apply Online:

Non-EU applicants generally apply directly through Trinity’s online application system or with the guidance of Mycareerpathshala.

Step 7 – Pay the Application Fee:

The application fee is €55 per course.

Step 8 – Wait for Assessment/Decision:

Trinity operates rolling admissions for many undergraduate programmes, although some courses have earlier deadlines.

Trinity Application Deadlines:

For Non-EU undergraduate applicants, Trinity states that applications generally open in November for the following September intake.

For the relevant application cycle, the general final deadline is June 30, while Medicine, Dental Science, Music and Drama have an earlier February 1 deadline.

For Medicine in particular, applicants should not wait for the general June deadline. The Medicine course page specifies the February 1 deadline for the Non-EU application route.

Medicine at Trinity: Important Admission Note

It is safe to say that applying for medicine is about much more than fulfilling the minimum requirements set by the Indian Grade 12 curriculum.

The page describing the Trinity Medicine programme indicates that candidates are required to fulfill both the minimum and program-specific requirements for admission to this program, making it quite competitive. As for the CAO route, the points required for admission in 2025 are 739, which showcases the competitive environment amongst potential candidates.

It follows that students in India should consider the published minimum academic scores just as the minimum requirement to be eligible for the course.
